Richmond -Carolina Fire District reminds everyone to help keep their four-legged family members safe during periods of extreme heat.
๐ถ Pet Heat Safety Tips: ๐ง Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water. ๐ณ Make sure pets have access to shade or air conditioning. ๐ Never leave a pet in a parked vehicleโeven for a few minutes. ๐พ Check pavement with your hand. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for their paws. ๐ Walk pets during the cooler morning or evening hours. ๐จ Know the signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool area and contact a veterinarian immediately.
Our pets depend on us to keep them safe. Help them stay cool and healthy all summer long! โค๏ธ๐พ
